Public Domain Heretics

Public Domain Heretics is the second album from Cathode Saint. It takes twelve of the most recognizable works in the public domain and recomposes them as symphonic-metal songs. Ten carry original English lyrics; two stay instrumental. Satie's Gymnopédie, Chopin's Nocturne, Beethoven's Moonlight, Debussy's Clair de Lune, Vivaldi's Winter, Bach's Toccata and his Air, Schubert's Erlkönig, Saint-Saens's Danse Macabre, Liszt's La Campanella, Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain, and Mozart's Lacrimosa, reopened and made to sing.
The canon is not a museum. The heretic move is refusing to treat it as untouchable.
Every track is a recomposition of a public-domain work. The arrangements, vocal performances, and production are AI-generated using commercial AI music-generation tools. Words, arrangement, direction, take curation, and mastering by Brian Thurlow. The project does not hide that it is generative; the disclosure is the point.
The voice through the mechanism.
